Last week our tip was about why you should hire a professional. (You can read that post here.) So let’s say you decided you know you want a professional, but now what? Where do you start? This blog is for YOU! It covers some great questions to think about when choosing a photographer. And honestly these questions are applicable to more than just a high school senior. So if you are a mom thinking about family photos or even a bride these questions could most definitely help walk you through choosing a photographer. Also, please don’t feel like you HAVE to ask a photographer all these questions, but they are a good place to start if you are feeling like you would like more information.

 

1. What is included in your packages?

This is very important. Making sure that you know what your package includes and what total costs are. We have a specific pricing guide just for seniors, you can email us at any time and we will happily share that with you. And then we are always available for any questions you might have about the packages and what they include.  We want you to feel well informed when deciding if we are the right photographer for you.

2. Will the photos be retouched and edited before I see the images?

This question is SO popular. We can’t even tell you how many times we get asked this question. And we completely understand why you would want to know that answer. Som YES, all of our photos are edited and enhanced before being delivered to our clients in an online viewing gallery for them to download.  However it is always good to ask because some photographers might not deliver them that way.

3. Do I have to order prints through you?

All of our packages come with a digital download and print release, which means you can download all of the images in your final gallery and print the photos where you would like. We do however also offer the option to order prints directly through us as well. We want clients to have access to high-quality prints that you can cherish for years to come.

4. How long does it take to get the photos back after the shoot?

We know everyone is excited to see their photos, and we are excited for you to see them too. And that is why we love to share some with you pretty quickly on social media. However the full gallery from a senior session is usually complete in 2-3 weeks. BUT if you are working on a timeline or need photos by a certain date it is always good to let the photographer know that so they are aware up front about your deadline.

5. What are the restrictions for sharing photos online?

We love when our clients share the photos all over social media BUT with that in mind you still need to give us credit for our work.  And I should probably add that you cannot edit or alter photos when you post them since it’s against copyright laws. However we hope that you wouldn’t be tempted to do that since each photo that is in your final gallery has been edited and enhanced in a way that you will love your images just the way they are.
